We used to go to Todd's on Mondays for her alternative Mondays we all worked at traxx at Gratiot and 7 Mile all the hottest bands went there on Mondays to hang out Bootsy and the Banshees Natasha Rhythm core and a bunch of the other'80s bands that were popular that used to play at St Andrews
ReplyDeleteI've seen you for years at backstreet 1994-1998 before I worked there 1998-2000 we made eye contact a couple times, but we never said hello. I think we were both nervous in the sea of gay. Thanks for this blog and for coming out. You deserve to.
ReplyDeleteI do recall you from 1996-2000, when I was a frequent at Backstreet, Gigi's, Menjos, Nectarine, Numbers, and Pronto. Amazing times. We flirted a bit, but nothing ever happened. It's good to see a friendly face from that era. 💙💙💙💙💙
ReplyDeleteChris, I really hope you happen to see this. My name is Angie, and I came across your post about Bretz where you mentioned your ex, Tenya (Bill) Sasse. I can’t begin to tell you what it felt like to unexpectedly see his name there.
ReplyDeleteTenya and I were very close friends beginning when we were kids in elementary school in Ohio. We lost touch and found each other again several times over the years. Our lives crossed again as teenagers and young adults, and for a period of time Tenya, his brother Ernest, and I even lived together. I always knew him as Tenya, so seeing you refer to him as Bill made me smile.
I learned years ago that Tenya had passed away, but he has never completely left my thoughts. I’ve searched the internet many times hoping to find a photograph of him or even just a little piece of the life he had during the years when we weren’t in contact.
If you’re comfortable with it, I would absolutely love to talk with you about him. I would love to hear your memories of Tenya, and if by some chance you still have any photographs of him, seeing his face again after all these years would mean more to me than I can put into words.
I hope this message somehow finds its way to you. ❤️
