I HAVE LIVED IN LOS ANGELES, CA FOR THE PAST 34 YEARS AND THINTERCHANGE IS STILL THE HOTTEST BAR I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. KEN LAMPARSKI, WHERE ARE YOU?
He moved to Chicago, but sadly died a few years later... Anyobe remember "Moose" or the guy that would tack his ballsack to the bench in ladies room and let guys suck his HUGE cock ? I was a doorman there in '79...
I loved going there in the very early 80’s. Before the built the upstairs bar when it was the Eagle, we used to go upstairs and fool around on the mattress up there. My then boyfriend/lover was a bartender there. I had a t-shirt with the muscle torso and elephant trunk logo for years.
I knew John & Bob and worked the Interchange bar one a New Year's Eve as a bartender when someone didn't show up. It was a great place and my first leather bar before moving to San Francisco. Great memories of many nice people and lots of fun.
Mid to late 70’s this was my bar. Had so much fun there ! Friday and Saturday nights meet some friends and then “go shopping “ later just before the bar closes. Great Memories !
This blog is a hobby of mine. I am researching the history of gay bars and places in the city of Detroit. It is a work in progress; some of the bars that I list, I have no real information about what they were like or what kind of clientele they had or pictures. If you know something about an old bar, email me please. I want to post every gay bar in Detroit that ever was so people can respond with their own stories or what they know about them. I need pictures also of old bars that have since closed. This blog is also semi-autobiographical, I am going to share my own life stories of bars and places in Detroit.
